Chocolate Pie
Yields 1 pie
Ingredients
- Filling:
- 1 pie shell; baked
- 1½ cups sugar
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 6 tablespoons cocoa
- 3 cups milk
- 3 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 1 teaspoon flavoring (vanilla)
- 1 dash salt
- Meringue:
- 3 egg whites
- 6 tablespoons sugar
Directions
- Mix sugar, four, cocoa, milk, flavoring, and salt. Cook 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat, add egg yolks and margarine. Return to heat and cook until mixture separates when spoon is cut through it.
- Pour into cooked pie shell. Beat egg whites with sugar and spread on top.
- Bake at 350F until meringue is golden.
