Chocolate Pie

Yields 1 pie

Ingredients

  • Filling:
    • 1 pie shell; baked
    • 1½ cups sugar
    • 6 tablespoons flour
    • 6 tablespoons cocoa
    • 3 cups milk
    • 3 egg yolk
    • 2 tablespoons margarine
    • 1 teaspoon flavoring (vanilla)
    • 1 dash salt
  • Meringue:
    • 3 egg whites
    • 6 tablespoons sugar

Directions

  1. Mix sugar, four, cocoa, milk, flavoring, and salt. Cook 3 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat, add egg yolks and margarine. Return to heat and cook until mixture separates when spoon is cut through it.
  3. Pour into cooked pie shell. Beat egg whites with sugar and spread on top.
  4. Bake at 350F until meringue is golden.
