Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cupshortening
- ¾ cup cold milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees
- In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening with fork, hands or pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour milk into flour mixture while stirring with hands or a fork. Mix until the dough a solf, moist a pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Turn dough out on a plate with flour. Knead 5 times.
- Pinch off about ¼ cup amount and roll into the palm of your hands. The more you make these the better they will look. The taste will be the same!!
